Student's in fifth grade are being introduced to the Solar System. In this project, students will be researching information about the planet they are assigned. They will be using the internet while conducting their research, using the textbook as a supplementary source.. Each student will provide important information about their planet. After the information is gathered, student's will put it into a digital story to share with the class.
b. Knowledge organizing: write a paragraph explaining how students will organize the knowledge they gained.
The students will be put into eight groups, each being assigned a planet. Each student will research information about their planet individually, being assigned a particular aspect of the planet. They will then come together and share their information with each other. Finally, they will organize all the information gathered and put it together in order to create a storyboard.
c. Knowledge sharing: write a paragraph explaining how students will share the knowledge they learned.
Student's will be creating a digital story displaying the information they obtained. After they have collaborated, students will develop a script, find pictures, and begin creating the digital story. After they all have been created, students will share their videos with the entire class. By watching everyone's digital story, students will be provided with information about each planet. Students will be more likely to be engaged and remember what they have learned.

Teacher will create a wikispace for students to upload their digital story.
